Food, Macro & Product Photographer

Flavour in Every Frame

Food doesn't sit still for long — which is exactly the kind of pressure Paul Lovas works well under. His food photography moves between extremes: macro shots so close you can count every ridge on a kernel of corn, and full-blown product campaigns where a pot of yoghurt or a bag of popcorn becomes the hero of its own little world.

Paul has a habit of turning food into something more theatrical: raw steaks tumbling like a house of cards, peppers look like they're yawning, papaya seeds looking like alien eggs. It's playful, technically demanding work, and he treats every shot — whether it's a single coffee bean or a full studio set-up — with the same level of obsession.

Behind the playful concepts is a serious amount of craft: precise lighting, careful styling, and split-second timing for anything involving splashes, drips or high-speed action. That's what makes his food and product photography work just as well in an editorial spread as it does in a commercial campaign.

Burgers, fries, melting ice cream — whatever's on the table, it gets the same theatrical treatment, with enough detail to make it look like it belongs on a billboard, not just a shelf.
